This rink was recently expanded so that there are now 2 rinks--one for figure skating & one for hockey. The ice is beautifully maintained and is kept clean & smooth. Registration employees are very helpful & friendly. To warm up off ice, there is a large sitting room with tables & chairs. There are public sessions, group lessons you can sign up for, and private lessons that you can schedule. The teachers are fantastic. Rental skates are pretty new & are kept in good shape (the laces are sometimes knotted when you get your skates; it would be nice if someone could fix that before they were given out). The sales shop (ice skates, clothing, etc.) inside is now owned by the NY Islanders; the guy who runs it is very helpful and patient. My only complaints are: -More parking is needed (unless you park near the pool & take a short walk up the road). -There is no concession stand; only soda and snack machines.
