West End Community Centre Ice Skating Rink

Welcome to the RinkTime profile for West End Community Centre Ice Skating Rink located at 21 Imperial Road South in Guelph (telephone 519-837-5657). Founded in May 2001, West End Community Centre of Guelph, ON has two indoor rinks which operate Fall, Winter and early Spring. The West End Community Centre is a fully accessible, multi-purpose community centre that has a full range of facilities ranging from an aquatic facility to a twin-pad arena to a gymnasium to community meeting rooms, Fire Hall and a library to complement the facility and provide a variety of additional services to users and customers. The facility is open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends and closed most Statutory holidays.  During the summer months, the facility is open 6am to 11pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 5pm on weekends (closed Statutory Holidays).

Arena

The twin pad arena consists of two NHL size hockey rinks which can accommodate sledge hockey (handicap hockey - where the boards in front of the benches can be removed to allow players access to the benches.). The seating areas adjacent the rinks hold about 180 people. In addition, on rink #1, spectators are able to watch (standing room) the rink activity from the heated spine. A small handicap seating area is also provided for spectators in rink #1. The arena facility consists of 10 change rooms - six with shared washroom/showers and four with their own facilities. In addition, four of the changerooms are fully accessible.  The rooms have a rubberized floor surface. There are also two referee change rooms located at the rear of the arena in order to seperate referees and players. An Automatic External Defibrillator Unit (A.E.D.) is located near the west entrance to the arena.

Public Skating

Public Ice Skating at West End Recreation CentrePublic skating sessions are one of our attractions at the West End Community Centre. Skating provides great exercise and an opportunity to get out of the house - plus, it's not like exercising at the gym... skating is fun! Lace-em up and come join the others. Get on the ice and get ready for a great experience.

The cost is $3.25 youth (under 18yrs), $4 adult (18yrs to 54yrs), $3.30 senior (55+yrs), or $11.25 for families (2 adults, 3 youth). We also offer books of 10-visit tickets as well. Contact us at 519-837-5657 (or via e-mail at  for details)

Looking for a casual game? We offer adult and senior day-time pickup hockey. Call us at (519) 837-5657 to inquire about our pickup hockey schedule or visit us on-line at . (At the top-centre of the page, click on "quick links". Scroll down to "ice skating" for the latest Shinny dates and cancellations). The cost is $7 per player.

We also offer Tiny Tot (preschoolers with caregiver), Senior/Adult and and Tiny Tot Shinny. The cost is $1 per adult (preschoolers are free).
